Repairing the Stone of a Baby Boy
Our team carefully reconstructed the base and restacked the monument, ensuring that the gravestone was restored to its original condition.
Baby Boy Walter Frank Bakeberg
The gravestone of Walter Frank Bakeberg, a baby boy who passed away in 1901, was in a state of disrepair before our conservation efforts. The base delaminated causing the monument to fall over.
To restore this gravestone, we utilized a reinforced soil structure with a permeable grid and crushed stone for the foundation. We also retained the original base, repairing it with an exceptionally high-quality conservation-grade epoxy.
The end result is a beautiful and fully restored gravestone that honors the memory of Valter Frank Bakeberg.
